Testing site at Pueblo State Fair temporarily relocating outside

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo City officials say the free COVID-19 testing site at the State Fairgrounds will temporarily relocate due to this year's Colorado State Fair.

The community testing site will now be located outside the fairgrounds in the parking lot at Arroyo and Acero avenues. The change is starting August 24 and is expected to last until September 9, according to the city.

“We are very appreciative the Colorado State Fair has allowed us to use the grounds for our community testing site since we brought free testing here in April,” said Randy Evetts, the public health director for the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment. “We are grateful the Fair is allowing us to remain in close proximity to the current testing site by temporarily locating just outside the Fairgrounds.”

Testing dates in the new location will be August 24, 25, 26, 31, and September 1, 2, 8, 9. There won't be any testing on Labor Day, September 7.

Officials say the procedure is the same and the free testing is available to residents in Pueblo and surrounding counties.
