Black Forest cat rescue hosts annual fundraiser virtually

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Since 2009, Wild Blue Cats in Black Forest has saved the lives of over 5,000 cats and assisted in countless more, and now they need our help.

They rely on the efforts of 300 volunteers and multiple yearly fundraising campaigns to keep their doors open. And the Coronavirus has made in-person fundraising impossible. So this year they're going virtual.

Fancy Feast is constantly one of the biggest fundraisers at Wild Blue Cats and this year it's taking place online. There are three categories, the auction, fund a need, and the kitty calendar.

The auction itself consists of a plethora of different items. Ranging from a signed Denver Broncos jersey, to a weekend getaway in Leadville. On the website, you can register for the auction, and remember, bidding opens on August 12th.

The second component to Fancy Feast 2.0 is Fund A Need. Which is exactly what it sounds like. It gives you the opportunity to donate to whichever causes you find important. For example, you can give a donation that goes directly toward spay and neutering. Or you can help raise money for the new Critical Care Unit, it's all up to you.

The last, but certainly not least, is the Kitty Calendar. Every year Wild Blue Cats does a kitty Calendar and this year is no different. For just one dollar you can submit a vote for the kitty you want to see on the calendar this year, and there's no limit to the number of votes you can submit.
