ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Fire season is here. With the number of wildfires and grass fires Colorado has already seen in 2020, it's certainly on the minds of many.

Cherry Creek State Park shared the photo above, giving people a detailed picture of how seemingly innocent beginnings can grow into a massive fire.

Park officials said in a social media post that strong winds could have easily blown embers from a grill, igniting a fire.

"The pictures you see are of a grill that did not have all of the embers completely put out," reads the post. "With the strong wind we had last night, something as small as the ember seen in the first picture could have easily been blown into a grassy area allowing a fire to start."
