armed robbery in pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. -- The Pueblo Police Department has made an arrest in an armed robbery that took place on Thursday, December 19, around 10:45 a.m at the Family Dollar store located at 2001 Troy Avenue.

According to police, a man and woman were in the store taking and hiding several items. A store employee then confronted the woman and tried to keep her from leaving. That's when the man who was with her left the store and later came back with a handgun, making the store employee let her go. The two suspects then left the store in a white Ford Mustang.

The next day, early Friday morning, Pueblo police responded to suspicious activity in the 900 block of Box Elder Street. Officers saw a Ford Mustang which appeared to have been freshly spray-painted when a man and a woman resembling the suspects in the Family Dollar robbery stepped out of the house. When they saw the officers, they went back in. Officers then surrounded the house and ordered the people inside to exit.

Five people came out and were arrested. Among them was Lee Carrillo. After investigating, police determined Carrillo matched the description of the male suspect in the armed robbery. Carrillo was arrested for Aggravated Robbery.

Detectives are still looking for the female suspect. She was described as being “short”, having short black hair and wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers pullover.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Detective Jose Medina at (719) 553-3296 or Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP to remain anonymous.
