Colorado Resorts are Unwrapping New Terrain in Time for the Holidays at Breck, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Crested Butte

Vail Resorts is announcing major terrain updates at Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Crested Butte.

All Five Peaks and the Highest Chairlift in North America Now Open at Breck

Following a massive snowstorm that dropped more than 4 feet of snow at the resort, this week Breckenridge Ski Resort opened all five peaks with the opening of Peak 6 and the Zendo and Kensho chairs on Friday. In addition, the resort just opened the Imperial Express – the highest chairlift in North America –  following the openings of 6-Chair and the T-Bar earlier this week. With these additional lift and terrain openings, skiers and riders will have access to approximately 2,000 acres of skiing and riding at the resort, with more high alpine terrain expected to open soon, including hike-to terrain.   

All of the Legendary Back Bowls Now Open at Vail 

With this week’s opening of China Bowl, Tea Cup Bowl, Siberia Bowl and the Inner and Outer Mongola Bowls, Vail now has all of its seven legendary Back Bowls open for skiing and riding. With more than 4,400 acres of terrain, Vail Mountain has the most open terrain at any resort in Colorado.  

All Three Base Areas Open at Beaver Creek 

Thanks to the abundance of recent snowfall, all three base areas at Beaver Creek Resort will be open this weekend (Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead). Skiers and riders will have access to more than 1,400 acres of terrain. Beaver Creek Extraordinaire presents Cheer kicks off this Saturday, Dec. 21 with daily activations through Jan. 4. 

All Three Peaks and High Alpine Bowls Open at Keystone 

Keystone Resort is more than 75% open with skiing and riding across all three peaks and high alpine bowls. On Saturday, Go Devil, The Richter and Packsaddle bowl will open, bringing Keystone’s skiable terrain up to more than 2,400 acres. Keystone’s Kidtopia Holiday Spectacular is in full swing until Dec. 31! The highlight event, the Kidtopia Mountaintop Spectacular, is on Dec. 21. and includes a parade, mountaintop fireworks and the lighting of the world’s largest snowfort. 

New Lifts and Terrain Open at Crested Butte

Heading into the holidays the majority of lifts at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) will be open for the season providing access to more than 600 acres of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. After nearly two feet of snow in the last week, the resort just opened the West Wall and East River Lifts.
