The debate about when the Christmas Season begins won't end Friday, but ice skating at Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs might make it feel like the most wonderful time of the year.

The rink is officially open as of Friday, and it will be open almost every day until Feb. 23. It's at the north side of Acacia Park, near Platte Ave. and Tejon Street.

Admission is $10 per person, and that includes skate rentals. Kids aged 4 and under get in free with a paying adult. And who knows, you may just end up getting an impromptu skate session with a member of US Figure Skating.

A Grand Opening for the rink is taking place next Friday, and everyone will be able to skate for free from 5 to 10 p.m.
