Couple disputes account after viral video shows them punch, kick woman at Skate City

A Colorado Springs couple wants to tell their side of the story, after a video went viral on Facebook, showing them kicking and punching a woman at Skate City.

The fight happened on Sunday at the Skate City on Academy Boulevard.

The woman who was left on the floor says the whole fight started because the couple stole the “Skate Trainer” she rented for five dollars, so she took it back.

She says the couple wasn’t happy, and that’s when the other woman decided to attack her.

However, the couple reached out to KRDO saying the woman claiming to be the victim is lying about what happened. They didn't provide specific details.

Police say the man seen kicking the woman in the video, Alfredo Arguelles, is charged with third-degree assault, and has since been released.

It’s unclear if the woman who allegedly started the fight will face any charges.

Police say they’re still in the early stages of the investigation and aren’t releasing any other information about the case right now.

Editor's note: A previous version of this article stated that we planned to speak with the couple's lawyer Tuesday to hear their side of the story. However, we've since learned that they are unable to meet with their lawyer as scheduled and will not be immediately available for comment.
