Persons of interest in Canon City homicide located, detained on drug charges in North Carolina

A couple being sought for questioning in connection with a Canon City homicide last week were located and detained on unrelated drug charges in North Carolina, according to a press release from the Canon City Police Department Saturday.

Acting on a tip Friday, authorities in Gastonia, North Carolina located Luciano Pogorzelski and Madison Blackburn at a gas station near a relative’s house and detained them. Police telling KRDO they are now considered suspects.

Detectives with the Canon City Police Department flew out to North Carolina to meet with authorities there and are now in the process of preparing search warrants for the vehicle, phones and other property that were in Pogorzelski and Madison’s possession.

Additionally, arrest warrants are being prepared for the couple.

Pogorzelski and Madison are currently being held in the Gaston County Jail on drug charges.

The Canon City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating two persons of interest in a Saturday night homicide, according to a release from the department.

Police would like to speak with Luciano C. Pogorzelski and Madison Blackburn, whom they believe had contact with 39-year-old Richard Fay prior to his death.

According to the release, Pogorzelski and Blackburn were last seen driving a 2005 dark gray 4-door Audi with the Tennessee plates 9M1-1V7 and are believed to be traveling in the Southern Colorado area.
