Police search for suspects after vehicle break-ins at Red Rock Canyon Open Space
The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who they believe were involved with vehicle break-ins.
CSPD responded to reports of a vehicle break-in at Red Rock Canyon Open Space on March 31. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle with its window broken in and credit/debit cards stolen.
The credit and debit cards were later used by a man (pictured below). Video surveillance footage shows a white or Hispanic male suspect, who avoided the surveillance camera and parked a distance away from the store.
The man was seen in a late 90’s model green extended cab truck – possibly a Chevy Silverado. (see photo below)
On the same day, March 31, around the same time, another vehicle was broken into at Red Rock Canyon Open Space.
The suspect broke into the window and stole credit and debit cards.
The credit and debit cards were then used to make purchases at local stores. Video surveillance footage shows a heavy-set white or Hispanic female (pictured below) using the stolen cards.
The woman was seen coming and going in a dark-colored SUV – possibly a Lincoln MKX. (pictured below)
At this time it is unknown if the two crimes are related.
