Amazon to open delivery station in Colorado Springs
Amazon is aiming big with its promise of one-day deliveries for Prime customers, and Colorado Springs will soon get a delivery station to speed up drop-offs for southern Colorado.
We had been looking into Amazon’s ongoing project at the Colorado Springs Airport since last fall, but the company hadn’t confirmed any details beyond hiring for its temporary warehouse.
Wednesday, Amazon said the station will “power last-mile delivery capabilities” and will create “hundreds of work opportunities for small businesses and independent contractors.”
The delivery station is set to open this year, but Amazon didn’t give a specific date.
Already in Colorado, Amazon has four fulfillment and sortation centers, 19 Whole Foods Market stores, a Prime Now Hub, Tech Hub, and an Amazon Air Hub.
