Partly sunny with afternoon storms – 06/12/18

Today: Highs today will reach the 80s and 90s across southern Colorado. Temperatures will be very similar compared to what we had Monday. We’ll have partly to mostly sunny skies today. Later this afternoon and evening, we have chances for some scattered storms. A few of these storms have the potential of becoming strong-to-severe with large hail (quarter or golf ball-sized) and damaging gusts to roughly 60-70 mph. We can’t rule out an isolated tornado in the eastern plains either. Make sure to stay weather aware and pack the umbrella in case you get caught beneath the rain!

Tonight: Lows drop to the 40s and 50s under partly cloudy skies. Storms should lose strength somewhat overnight, but some storms could stick around into early tomorrow morning. This is tricky to track. We’ll watch it for you!

Extended: We have daily chances for isolated to scattered storms in your seven day forecast. Temperatures stay quite stagnant in the 80s and 90s. However, it will be slightly cooler this upcoming weekend. Starting Friday and lasting through the weekend, southwesterly winds could help to usher in some moisture from what will be the remnants of now hurricane Bud (located currently south of Baja California). Stay with us as we continue to monitor the forecast for updates!
