Drier Weather Ahead 5-21-18
TONIGHT: A few lingering showers and storms over the far Eastern Plains will continue moving from southwest to northeast. These eventually weaken and exit the areas overnight. Cloud cover lingers with temps in the 40s and 50s by early tomorrow morning.
TOMORROW: Some cloud cover may linger through sunrise before mostly sunny skies emerge by the mid-morning hours. Clouds begin to build again towards afternoon with isolated showers and storms possible. These will once again develop over the mountains before moving eastward during the evening. High temps will again return to the 70s and 80s with 60s in Teller County. It will be a little breezy through the afternoon hours with gusts in the 30s to near 40.
EXTENDED: Conditions still look mostly dry on Wednesday. We are keeping a close eye on the Air Force Academy graduation. A few high clouds look likely at this point with temps warming to the 80s for the afternoon. Breezy conditions return with gusts in the 30s to near 40. Thursday looks to be the warmest day with above average temperatures continuing through the weekend. A few storms may return in time for Saturday and Sunday.
