Afternoon storms possible – 5/21/18

TODAY: Highs will be much warmer around Southern Colorado today! Afternoon temperatures should climb to the 70s and 80s in the lower elevations with 50s and 60s in the high country. Most of the day will be dry with more clouds than sunshine. But by later this afternoon, storms will start to develop around the area. Severe weather is not expected, but watch out for some lightning.

TONIGHT: Storms wrap up soon after sunset and we are left with a mostly quiet night. Scattered clouds will linger and lows cool to the 50s. Mountain cities will feel the 30s and 40s tonight.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow brings more chances for a few afternoon showers with highs similar to Monday afternoon. By Wednesday, dry skies and warm temperatures are expected–great news for everyone attending the Air Force Academy Graduation! We stay dry and hot through Thursday before shower and storm chances start to increase again over the weekend.
