Fire Danger Returning 5-9-18
TONIGHT: A few showers and storms continue across the Eastern Plains. Any storm that becomes strong will have the potential to produce wind gusts near 60 mph along with frequent lightning. Storms begin to wind down by midnight with clearing skies into early tomorrow morning. Low temps will fall to the 40s and 50s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny skies are expected with very warm temperatures once again. Highs return to the 80s and 90s. A Wind Alert Level One has been issued with strong wind gusts during the afternoon. This combined with low relative humidity has prompted Red Flag Warnings to be in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
EXTENDED: Several days of high fire danger look likely with Red Flag Warnings again possible on Friday and Saturday. We will still be tracking gusty winds during this time. Temps do become a little cooler through the weekend but in general we are tracking drier and warmer conditions. A few storms will still be possible through Saturday and Sunday and again into next week.
