Gusty Winds Overnight 1-25-18
TONIGHT: Clouds continue to clear out overnight but as a cold front nears, winds will become quite gusty. A Level One Wind Alert continues tonight as many places will experience gusts between 30-45 mph. The southern I-25 corridor is likely to experience wind gusts between 50-70 mph. Lows will cool to the teens and 20s but it will feel much colder with gusty conditions. Snow moves in to the mountains overnight with a few flurries possible for Teller County.
TOMORROW: A Level One Wind Alert continues through the afternoon as wind gusts are still expected over 30 mph. Mostly sunny skies will return with cooler temps behind a passing cold front. Afternoon high temps manage to make it to the 40s and low 50s. 30s will be common for the higher elevations. Winds quiet down after midday.
EXTENDED: Cooler yet seasonable temps will continue Saturday with milder air returning Sunday. Highs Saturday will be in the 40s for the lower elevations and 30s for mountain cities. 40s and 50s arrive Sunday. The weekend and the start of next week stay quiet with mostly sunny skies. Another storm system looks to track toward the area on Wednesday bringing some slight rain and snow chances to Southern Colorado. We’ll be watching this system closely to see if it will bring us any much needed precipitation.
