RNC day 2 theme hits home for Cleveland

Make America Work Again.

That’s the theme of Day 2 at the Republican National Convention, continuing a week-long series based on Donald Trump’s overall campaign promise to “Make America Great Again.”

It follows Monday’s “Make America Safe Again” theme that focused on national security and the fight against terrorism.

A number of Trump’s own family members are expected to take the stage Tuesday evening to talk about his own career running businesses and creating jobs.

It’s a topic that is especially relevant to the host city.

Cleveland is a city that continues to experience population decline, slow income growth, and higher property taxes due to the loss of business taxes.

Once a bustling industrial city, Cleveland has suffered in recent decades as factories and jobs move overseas.

Republicans will try to convince northern Ohio and the nation that their platform and vision will bring more prosperity than the Democrat’s vision over the next four years.
