Continued heavy rainfall in the Springs affecting road repair progress

Heavy rainfall from 2013 and the fall of 2015 have continued to make an impact on many areas in southern Colorado.

Some roads, bridges, trails and parks remain closed because of flood and erosion damage.

In some cases, federal money that would help pay for repairs still hasn’t arrived.

Local crews are trying to restore affected areas as fast as they can.

“We’ve probably got a dozen or so projects that we’re looking at, whether in western El Paso County, up the pass, or clear out into Black Forest,” said R.C. Smith, manager of EPC Recovery.
