Broncos looking for revenge against Colts
While they’re down playing the importance of last week’s win over Green Bay, Derek Wolfe and the Broncos said this week’s game against Indianapolis is personal.
“Don’t forget, these guys knocked us out of the playoffs last year, so don’t sleep on them,” said Wolfe.
Revenge can be a good motivator.
“Any time a team beats you in the playoffs, the next time you get to play them it’s important because you have something to prove,” said Wolfe.
But C.J. Anderson said yet another Peyton Manning record is on the team’s mind as well.
“I know it would mean a lot to him, to win there on the other side,” said Anderson. “I think that would complete his ‘winning everywhere on either side [thing]’ – home or away.”
In typical Manning fashion – he’s not looking at the numbers.
“I’ve been very fortunate to play for two football teams in two cities and communities that are very connected,” said Manning.
At practice some players said there was a chance last year, in the playoffs, the Broncos were looking past the Colts. From what we found out spending some time with the players, that’s not going to happen this year.
“This team has embraced the fact that every week they’re going to say we’re underdogs, which makes no sense to me,” said Wolfe. “But I like it. We like being the underdog, it puts a chip on our shoulder and we play even harder.”
Even the new guy understands the Broncos winning attitude.
“It’s about winning. Winning the game and adding onto what these guys have accomplished here before I arrived,” said the newest Broncos’ tight end Vernon Davis.
