Mr. Biggs To Close In April

The owners of Mr. Biggs announced Friday that the long-running fun center business will cease operations as of April 29th, 2012.

The business is being closed to accommodate the expansion of Stellar Restaurant Solutions inside the Mr. Biggs building on Mark Dabling Boulevard.

“It’s been a great run for us and we’re proud of all we’ve done here for our friends and neighbors with Mr. Biggs,” said Jim Fenlason, the current CEO and one of the investors in Mr. Biggs. “But the truth is that Mr. Biggs just doesn’t work as ‘Mr. Smalls’ ? and that’s what it would be after the Stellar expansion.”

The owners are planning a two-month “Going Away Party” to allow the many fans of the Fun Center to come and play one more time. The celebration will incorporate discounts and special deals on passes, birthday parties, corporate events, and other activities.

“We don’t want this to be a sad time for all the people who love Mr. Biggs,” said Fenlason. “We want it to be a celebration of the great times we all have had here and part of that is holding a really big, fun goodbye party for the Fun Center.”

Stellar Restaurant Solutions, which shares the building on Mark Dabling Boulevard with Mr. Biggs recently announced a significant expansion of its operations. This necessitated a “hard decision” on the part of the owners of the Mark Dabling property who are also the investors in, and owners of, Mr. Biggs.

“It was tough for us? making this decision,” said Steve Bigari, one of the founders of Mr. Biggs and also the CEO of Stellar Restaurant Solutions. “We know what Mr. Biggs means to the community, but we also know that Colorado Springs needs jobs and the Stellar expansion is going to bring a lot of jobs here.”

Fans of Mr. Biggs are encouraged to post their good-bye wishes on the Mr. Biggs Facebook page, and can find out about discounts and Good-Bye Party activities on Mr. Biggs web site.
