Big Snow Storm For Southern Colorado
A very wet and complex winter storm is closing in on Southern Colorado and will deliver a sloppy mixture of rain and wet snow for the Southeast Plains starting Saturday night.
This storm came from Southern California and is packed with moisture, but since it's not a very cold winter storm, much of the moisture expected for the Southern Eastern Plains will start as rain. Because of this, snowfall amounts will be hard to predict.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY will go into effect fro all locations along the Front Range from Douglas County to the New Mexico state line. Woodland Park, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City, Walsenburg and Trinidad are all included in this ADVISORY.
By Sunday afternoon, the snow will wind down along the Front Range, leaving us with anywhere from 2 to 4 inches for most of Colorado Springs, but places west of I'25, and Foothill locations above 7,000 feet could see almost double that amount.
Once the storm clears out, a raw gusty north wind sends temperatures down into the low low 30s and upper 20s for the rest of the day.
