Springs police investigate multiple armed robberies

Colorado Springs police are investigating multiple armed robberies that happened over the weekend. Police do not think they are linked.

Hotel Robbery

A lone gunman robbed the MCM Elegante Suites on North Academy Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

Officers say a man entered the hotel with a semi-automatic handgun around 2:15 p.m.

He demanded money from the front desk.

The suspect left with an undetermined amout of cash in a tan metal money box.

He is described as a white man in his 40s. He is about 5’10” with a medium to medium-heavy build. He had a noticeably deep voice.

The suspect was wearing a dark gray winter hat with fur around the bottom and fur ear flaps pulled down at the time of the robbery. He also had on dark sunglasses, a yellow multi-colored bandana, a dark blue windbreaker with a light blue stripe across the chest, blue jeans and gray tennis shoes.

Ski and Golf Store Robbery

The Colorado Ski and Golf store in the 2400 block of Montebello Square Drive was robbed.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a man and woman were loitering inside and outside of the business.

The woman was driving a black Chevy Malibu.

According to police, the man walked out of the store and set off the theft alarm.

A store employee confronted him in the parking lot and the man showed the employee a handgun and told him to “back off”.

The woman had a piercing in between her eyes and one on her lip.

Victim Robbed At Gunpoint

Two robbers held a victim at gunpoint in the 900 block of Westmoreland Rd. just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Officers said it happened in the parking lot of the Spring Creek Apartments.

According to police, two men stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet.

7-Eleven Robbery

Colorado Springs police said the 7-Eleven store in the 6000 block of Constitution Ave. was robbed just before midnight Saturday.

Officers said a man and woman robbed the store.

Both were armed with handguns.

They got away with cash and lottery tickets.
