2 People die in crash on I-25

Two people are dead following a crash on I-25 over Monument Hill near the Palmer Lake exit Friday afternoon.

Colorado State Patrol says an 82-year-old man from Texas was driving southbound when he lost control of the car and drove into the side of the overpass bridge.

The driver died at the scene and a female passenger was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Their identities haven’t been released yet.

According to a witness, there was no de-acceleration. The accident is in the beginning stages of the investigation, authorities say it might have been a medical situation.
