KRDO 2022 Voter Guide: David J. Lucero
Sheriff David J. Lucero, a Democrat, is currently serving as the Sheriff of Pueblo County when the Pueblo Board of County Commissioners appointed him to serve out the remainder of former Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor's term on Oct. 11, 2022. Lucero served 18 years with the Puelo County Sheriff's Office and is a 22-year law enforcement veteran.
Lucero grew up in New Mexico and served in the New Mexico Army National Guard (1996-1998) before he moved to Colorado and began his law enforcement career.
