Rebecca Keltie is the Unity Party candidate for Colorado's 5th Congressional District seat.

What would be your first legislative priority?

Keltie: I have several priorities so to narrowing it down to one I would write and promote legislation for more assistance for our small businesses and essential service workers of those small businesses. There have been legislative proposals for other areas including many businesses however not entirely focused on small mom and pop places, small restaurants or other service related businesses which my district and the country depend on. It has also been brought to my attention that many service workers in those realms, considered essential, have been left out in the cold. We must do more. We are a country that seems to bend over backwards helping other countries and yet our own Americans suffer. This must be changed.

A few other top priorities would include Term limits, Veterans health reform, outrageous College/University costs, Social security protections, Cord blood stem cell therapies (including other groundbreaking medical options) inclusion into normal Health Care and preserving our 2nd Amendment and safe gun ownership.

How do you plan to represent an increasingly diverse voter base in your district?

Keltie: As I am a candidate that represents all sides, listening to the people of our country is the key. I am the first truly moderate, all encompassing,  candidate to run. It’s time for Party Politics to end and proper representation for all the People to begin. Political parties do nothing but divide our country. We are a nation of people and our government needs to get onboard. We are suppose to be a government for the people, of the people, by the people. It’s high time they start showing it or get out of the way.

People have demanded draining the “swamp”. That needs to happen on all sides. It was never intended for Congress to be a 30 or 40 year stint.

The best way to do this is forcing Congress to set reasonable Term Limits. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and they’ve proven that with the absolute mess we see in the house and senate today. They have made it clear they do not have the people’s best interest. We must get back to business and putting the people and country first.

What is your top priority, and what is your plan to address it?

Keltie: My top priority as Colorado’s 5th District U.S. House of Representatives is to bring focus on real world, real life issues to DC. Our American people have been ignored for far too long. Our top priorities, other than COVID recovery of course, are our jobs, lands, water and healthy clean living. How do I know this for sure? Because over the last year I have spoken to close to 7,500 people, personally, from all over my district. Most of them one on one. Their first concern is that they aren’t being heard. Their voices and concerns are not being represented in Congress. No matter what they do they cannot get responses for their issues from the current incumbent. In their words “it all lands on deaf ears”. Officials are elected to represent the people not to ignore them and/or just follow their Party’s narrative. I promise to listen and follow through. We need a hard-working, hard-charging Congress-person in office. One that cannot and will not be swayed by big Party demands. The people need someone not afraid to go against the grain and to do what’s right, with common sense, no matter what. A spitfire. That person is me. Where there’s a will there’s a way. I wholeheartedly believe in One Team One Fight and I plan on using everything I have, with no distractions, to get the job done.
