Dick’s Sporting Goods begins selling Stanley Cup merchandise following Avalanche victory

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- As the Colorado Avalanche continue to celebrate, fans are doing the same. Dick's Sporting Goods in Denver immediately opened its doors after Sunday's victory to sell championship merchandise. In addition, other stores have opened early Monday to begin selling the Stanley Cup gear, including sporting goods stores in Colorado Springs.

According to Dick's Sporting Goods, fans can receive their gear by ordering online, in-store, or by order and pick up.

Sunday night, fans weren't just flocking to sporting goods stores, they also took to the Denver streets.

On Thursday, the City of Denver will be holding the championship parade and rally in celebration of the victory. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. at Civic Center Park.

The parade will start at Union Station at 17th and Wynkoop streets. Then, the parade will travel down to Broadway, ending at Civic Center Park.

Once the parade arrives, there will be a special programming to honor the new Stanley Cup Champions.

The celebration will also include live music, a highlight reel, and video from the season.

Backpacks and large bags are discouraged and will be inspected upon arrival.
